Another quick trip out of NYC with Outdoor Bound. This one to Harriman State Park. Getting out of the City is like hitting the reset button, even if for a day.
So the trip details are almost superfluous; was raining, sun came out, guides from Outdoor Bound fantastic, 9 mile hike, and getting to know some folks (or not) on a trail is always a special kind of perfect. The trail, the people and the destination all find a balance depending on where your heads at. Taking a step back to someplace more elemental is always a reminder that there are other places without subways and desks. Longer and farther would be ideal, but I will take what I can get.
